‘Round-the-Sound will be governed by the US Sailing Safety Equipment Requirements (SER) for Near Shore Racing, dated March 1, 2023. 

‘Round-the-Island will be governed by the US Sailing Safety Equipment Requirements (SER) for Coastal Racing, dated March 1, 2023 and the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea.

The following requirements of the SER are deleted: 3.6.4, 3.9, 3.16.2.

Yachts shall meet either SER requirement 3.7.1 or 3.7.2.

The Organizing Authority has added the requirement for all 'Round-the-Island boats to meet SER 4.3.2 Safety at Sea Training for 30 percent (but not fewer than two members) of its crew. Training is available online through US Sailing: https://www.firsttack.org/courses/safety-at-sea-coastal

Yachts may submit SER waiver requests along with their risk mitigation proposals via email to the event organizer at [email protected]
