In 1930 the Club purchased the holdings of the former Chappaquiddick Improvement Company, which had built tennis courts and a clubhouse on Pease’s Point Way. Thus began the Edgartown Tennis Center, a forward-looking move that today offers members as lively and competitive a recreational life on land as the Yacht Club does on the water.
